Registrations are now open for the second Baslow Bolt, the new cross country race that in 2019 revived the old Baslow Fell Race.

The route will again be well marked and marshalled, making it suitable for all levels of experience.Homemade cakes, served with teas and coffees will be available to purchase at the finish!This is a 12km (7.5 miles) Category BM (medium distance, medium altitude gain), FRA-mandated mixed terrain fell race through woodland and pasture on paths and trails with minimum road running.
So, how will it work?
Runners will be given a time to arrive in the church grounds then start almost straight away. Timing chips will provided on the day, with results posted on-line shortly after the event.
Is the race Covid compliant?
Sports England & UK Athletics, in conjunction with the National Fell Runners Association (FRA), are still mandating safe running events. The FRA has recently granted us a new licence (and associated insurance) and we they will be following all Covid-19 guidelines.
What happens now?
Visit their website you can register for the event, but don’t delay, because this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, they have had to reduce numbers from around 280 last year to around 180 this year.
