Derbyshire’s new PCC

Angelique Foster has been elected as Derbyshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

The new Commissioner will take up office on Thursday 13 May 2021 and will serve a three-year term until 2024 due to the year-long postponement of the election as a result of COVID-19.

Police and Crime Commissioners are elected independent representatives who oversee how their local police service operates. Their aim is to help cut crime and to ensure that the police service they represent is as effective as it can be.

PCCs work with the police and other partners to cut crime, give the public a voice at the highest level, and hold forces to account and help restore trust.
