On Saturday 8 October Apple Day will be celebrating its tenth anniversary, during which there will be lots to do for all the family.
The event will take place at the Community Orchard, off Over Lane, from 12–3 pm, where there will be plenty of games, live music, hot snacks and more.
There will be produce stalls from Baslow St Anne’s School PTA, the Garden Society and the WI, along with a range of competitions:
- Traditional Apple Pie with decorated Crust (All ages)
- Create your Own Apple Dessert Recipe (All ages)
- Create a “Fruit/Vegetable” Monster (Children only)
- Photography on the theme “Nature” (Ages 5-11 and 12-16)
The apple press will be in operation so that you can make your own apple juice (don’t forget your own containers), which is always great fun for all ages.
New for this year there will be:
- Wider range of live music and Fool’s Paradise Street Artists
- William Tell Archery Competition
- Awards and closing remarks from Lord Burlington
