On Sunday 12 September, the Duchess of Devonshire formally opened the new bike track that has been created within the Baslow Woodland Park.
The new bike track has been designed and created by two Baslow residents, Simon Turton and David Robins, who worked together with the Parish Council to deliver the new community facility.
Since the bike track was completed earlier this year it has become a very popular attraction for local families who now have several distinct areas for their children to explore: the main play area, the nature zone and the bike track.
The new bike track has also been linked to the woodland running area, which has been created within the nature zone to provide additional paths for cyclists to enjoy; the pathway has been fenced off from the main play area as bikes are not allowed within this area.
The Parish Council would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Duchess for her time and support, and would also like to thank Cllr Susan Hobson, who presented the Duchess with flowers and made a short speech about the new bike track.
