We are pleased to report that many of the flood warnings on rivers in the Derbyshire Dales were all lifted on Saturday evening, but please do be aware that although previously blocked major routes are generally clear, some flood debris could still be on the roads. Highways agencies are understandably stretched right now.
DDDC’s volunteer teams distributed more than 2,500 sandbags across the district on Friday and into the early hours of Saturday to help protect properties under threat of flooding.
They also set up sandbag hubs in known hotspots, replenishing supplies despite facing challenging road conditions made worse by abandoned and queuing vehicles.
