Baslow’s Fright Night 31 October

No tricks, all treats

Did the heatwave get you hot under the collar? Dreaming of cosy winter evenings? Prepare to celebrate the spookiest time of the year: All Hallows’ Eve, with Baslow Players.

The Baslow Players invite you to join them for an unsettling night of classic ghost stories at Baslow Village Hall on 31 October.

Tickets cost £8 and will be available soon from www.ticketsource.co.uk/baslowplayers

Commenting on the event, director Charlotte Cooper said: “We invite you step back in time to a candlelit world of chilling stories from the best writers of the Victorian and Edwardian ages.

“Our Hallowe’en festivities promise to be less pumpkins and jump-scares, and more a cold finger on the back of the neck and stories that will follow you home and re-emerge in your dreams.

“This event is suitable for older teen and adults, so leave the youngsters to go guising and enjoy a blood-curdling night with us.”

In keeping with the gothic theme of the night, there will be prizes for the best-dressed audience members, so dig out your best velvet and lace and prepare to scare.

All profits from this production will go to Baslow Village Hall.

On a less frightening note, rehearsals start soon for Baslow Players’ 2027 pantomime production of Sinbad the Sailor (performances Wed 10 – Sat 13 February).

There will be two nights of auditions open to all, on Thursdays 10 and 24 September, at 7pm in Baslow Village Hall.

The Players are actively encouraging new members, on and off stage, (including sound, safeguarding and stage crew), so please come along or contact baslowplayers@gmail.com or via Facebook if you’d like to get involved.
