Clare Whalley, the duty manager at The Prince of Wales in Baslow, is also captain of Team Icicles Senior – a synchronised skating team based at the National Ice Centre, Nottingham.

Clare has now reached TEAM GB Performance level in a second skating discipline after being there as an ice dancer. As a member of Team Icicles she will lead her team to represent GBR at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Synchronised Skating Championships in Croatia in April.

As all skating events are self funded she is also leading a fundraising campaign to support the team of 18 young women with the high cost of taking the team abroad to compete.
