Dr Jordan to retire

Dr Jordan has announced that she will be leaving Baslow Health Centre due to an on-going health issue, as she explains in her own words:

Letter to patients and staff at Baslow Health Centre from Dr Louise Jordan February 2022:

It is with great sadness that I have to announce my retirement in May 2022.

This has been an incredibly difficult and sad decision to make. I particularly want to thank Dr Nick Gill for his support and accommodation in reaching this decision.

My dysarthria (speech difficulty) has progressed to the level that I can no longer undertake consultations. Whilst this was originally thought to be a post Covid phenomena it turns out to be a rare form of Motor Neurone Disease (called Primary Lateral Sclerosis).

We have made some really exciting and successful appointments in Dr Jayne Atkinson, who will join the partnership in April, Dr Saskia Highcock who has been working as a salaried doctor since January and we have the imminent start of Dr Craig Fishwick in May. Accordingly, I leave knowing it is in very safe hands with Dr Nicholas Gill , Dr Becky Goodchap, all the amazing staff and new manager, Michael Parker.

I will miss working dreadfully and can only thank each and every one of you for the privilege of having spent 25 years at Baslow Health Centre.

Dr Louise Jordan
