Baslow and Bubnell Local Bus Survey: The Results
Late last year, the Baslow Environment Group (BEG) conducted a survey on how the local community felt about our local bus services.
Please find attached a brief summary of the results which you can also find on the Transport section of the BEG website ( link below):
There were not too many surprises, with most respondents commenting on the need for dependable, frequent, and well-connected bus services which, if delivered, is likely to deliver the largest increase in ridership. 79% of respondents said they would be ‘more likely’ to use buses if services improved.
Introduction of late night bus services to/from Chesterfield/Sheffield was important to some people, along with services to direct locations, such as Grindleford station.
We aim to share this survey with the local operators and see if any of the above suggestions could be trialled.
Finally, people did mention the need for electronic/real time signage in the survey, and you may have noticed a new electronic bus status update board has been set up at the Nether End bus stop area….a definite step forward!
I’ll be very happy to take any comments or further suggestions you may have on this subject. You can contact me anytime, my details are below.
Thank you very much for taking the time to help with this exercise, it is much appreciated!
